Distracted by the world around,
My thoughts are scattered, unbound.
The noise and chaos, they invade,
My mind, my soul, they have waylaid.
I try to focus, try to reign,
In the thoughts that cause me pain.
But distractions come from every side,
And I am left feeling lost, unable to decide.
The phone that rings, the emails that ping,
The endless chatter that does not mean a thing.
All these things that take me away,
From the things that truly matter each day.
I long for peace, for quiet space,
To find my center, to feel my grace.
To live in the present, in this moment true,
And let go of the things that do not renew.
So I will take a breath, and close my eyes,
And focus on the things that make me wise.
I will let go of distractions, and find my peace,
And in that stillness, my worries will cease.
