Still eyes observe,
Yet mind races ahead,
Idle hands find solace,
While heart beats with dread.
What is unfolding?
It’s as if
My heart starves for peace,
My mind under attack,
And here I am, seeking
Peace amidst the strife,
Seeking serenity in chaos,
Seeking light within darkness,
Seeking a place to call home,
Within shattered hearts.
Searching for that which
Never truly lasts,
Seeking the person
Who will remember my gaze,
Seeking hope within
Lost souls’ embrace,
Seeking emotions
Within lifeless stones,
Seeking love amidst
Frozen hearts’ icy tone,
Seeking angels within
The depths of hell.
Dear mind,
I understand
Your doubts assail,
Yearning for peace,
Longing for clarity.
Why do you birth
Endless doubts and fears?
Can’t you quiet your thoughts?
Can’t you simply stop,
Pondering over things
That lie beyond your grasp?
Find contentment in what you possess.
Dear mind,
I recognize your hunger,
Craving a nourishment,
Affection and love.
But why seek love
Within lifeless rocks,
Amongst souls long gone?
Can’t you cease the growth of emotions?
Why must you rely on others
To fulfill your every need?
Learn to love yourself,
Embrace your own being,
Even if love eludes you.
Why only seek goodness in others?
Why solely find joy
When love is bestowed upon you?
Don’t you understand?
You possess the power to create wonders.
If no one loves you, love yourself.
Begin by loving yourself,
Without condition or restraint,
And watch as others begin to love you.
Oh, my mind and heart,
Cease your restless distress,
It’s time for you to rest!
