Dreams showed forth, as we walked as one,
My heart believed our tale begun.
A best friend’s bond, so strong and true,
Yet now I see it was not you.
Our laughter echoed through the air,
A world so bright, beyond compare.
But shadows cast, a love anew,
A wedding invite, a truth to rue.
The secrets shared, a cherished art,
Now torn apart, my wounded heart.
Illusions shattered, cruel sensation,
What I thought was real, mere figmentation.
Hand in hand, we faced the storm,
Through life’s highs and each reform.
A canvas painted, our dreams in hue,
But now I am left, the lonely view.
Promises made under moonlit skies,
Whispered words and heartfelt sighs.
A figment woven, I must confess,
A fantasy I nurtured, nothing less.
She found her solace in another’s eyes,
A twist of fate, a sad surprise.
The love I felt, a one-way street,
My heart deceived by its own heartbeat.
Here I stand, the story now told,
Friendship lost, my heart grows cold.
A figment fades, reality stings,
In bittersweet notes, my lament sings..
