SHADOWS

Shadows onced swallowed a lady’s grace,
Married to a life that wore her soul thin,
Once vibrant, now a faint and ghostly trace,
A shadow of the light that once had been.

A glowing spirit, she had once possessed,
With dreams and passions blazing in her eyes,
But in the chains of matrimony’s nest,
Her light dimmed slowly ’til it ceased to rise.

She traded laughter for a quiet sigh,
Her voice was silenced, no longer heard aloud,
Her dreams abandoned, hanging in the sky,
A shadowed figure moving through the crowd.

Oh, lady fair, your spirit yearns to soar,
To break free from the chains that hold you tight,
To find the strength you had in days of yore,
And bathe again in love’s awakening light.

Release yourself from shadows that encase,
Unbind your soul and let it find its flight,
Rediscover the beauty of your face,
Embrace the day and make it gleam so bright.

For every shadow, sunlight must prevail,
To bring to life that which has long been still,
Awaken, lady fair, unfurl your sail,
Let your spirit dance, let it have its fill.

Do not forsake the dreams that lie within,
Nor yield to shadows cast by outside hand,
Reclaim your light, let your true self begin,
And shine upon the world, just as you planned.

I live to write; I write for a living. Because I breath words in and out, everything I pen down must be epic!
