TODAY’S THOUGHTS – RELATIONSHIP

BEYOND LETTERS

This love story, let punctuation guide,
As commas caress, and question marks confide.
The exclamation mark, with passion, it shouts,
While hyphens connect, and colons lay doubts.

Oh, apostrophe, possessive and true,
Claiming my heart, forever with you.
Parentheses embrace, a tender hold,
Whispering secrets, never to be told.

Quotation marks, a love story they weave,
Enclosing our words, like a gentle reprieve.
Ellipses dance, in a rhythmic sway,
Pausing our moments, extending the play.

Em dash ignites, a fiery spark,
Unifying souls, even in the dark.
Semicolon, a pause and a link,
Binding our love, with a lasting wink.

Question mark wonders, in curiosity,
Exploring the depths of our affinity.
And the period, firm, a final decree,
Sealing our love, for eternity.

Let the punctuation shape our tale,
Each mark expressing, what words often fail.
For love’s language goes beyond the letters,
And finds its voice, in these punctuation treasures.

GULLY OF SILENCE

In love’s embrace, we wander, side by side,
Two souls entwined, our hearts yearning to share,
Yet in this dance, a chasm does reside,
A gully of silence, tearing at our pair.

For words unspoken form a mighty gulf,
A void that deepens with each passing day,
Communication falters, stumbles, and huffs,
Distance between us growing in dismay.

Oh, let us bridge this rift, this silent hush,
And speak our truths, like rivers to the sea,
For in the absence of words, doubts will rush,
And carve irreconcilable debris.

Let not this gully swallow what we hold dear,
Close the divide, draw near, my love, draw near.

Communication, the lifeline of our love,
With every word, a bridge we can construct,
Embrace the power of words spoken thereof,
And heal the wounds before they self-destruct.

For silence breeds misunderstanding’s seeds,
That sprout into resentment, doubt, and fear,
Our hearts, once intertwined like woven reeds,
Now separate, distant, ever austere.

But let us not forsake the love we have known,
Let us find the strength to talk and truly hear,
In honesty and empathy, we have grown,
Let us cherish what we have, draw near, my dear.

The gully of silence, we must bridge with care,
And close the gap, for love is meant to share.

Let us seize this moment, hand in hand,
And build a bridge of words, strong and secure,
Our hearts shall reconnect, like grains of sand,
And in that union, love shall endure.

No longer far, but close, intimately,
Our souls entwined, in love’s sweet symphony,
Through honest conversations, we shall see,
The power of words that set our spirits free.

For in the end, it is the love we bear,
That fuels our need to close the gap so wide,
Through open hearts and words, we shall repair,
And find the love that once seemed cast aside.

Let us not wait, my love, but start today,
To bridge the gap, and keep our love’s decay.

What are you most worried about for the future?

Loneliness. Empty nest.

My kids are girls. I am worried that one day when they get married and leave for their husbands houses, I and my husband will be alone again. Lols. Selfish right?

But the joy of it is that God has.not given us the spirit of fear. It is bound to happen one day, a day I will hear “Mom, my boyfriend proposed – we are getting married?”.

FALSELY ACCUSED?

MY STORY, A STARK CALL

In a somber cell, I once did dwell,
Accused of deeds, they claimed so foul,
A young lady’s heart, now a prisoner’s shell,
Innocence lost, my fate was dour.

They spoke of murder, cold and cruel,
A crime I did not dare commit,
Yet, in the court, their words were fuel,
And there I stood, condemned to sit.

Oh, fate, how can you be so unkind?
To snatch my life and dreams away,
Injustice clouds my troubled mind,
And darkness veils this fateful day.

I pled and begged, but none would hear,
The truth obscured by lies and hate,
They did not see my falling tear,
My heart in chains, my soul’s sad state.

I called upon the wind and rain,
To wash away this damning lie,
I called upon the earth’s domain,
To shake the truth, no more to deny.

The spirits of the dead I sought,
To bear witness to my plight,
To prove my innocence, I fought,
To set me free from this cruel night.

But all in vain, the gavel fell,
And death’s cold grip had claimed its prize,
In sorrow’s grasp, I bid farewell,
As tears streamed down from saddened eyes.

Led to the chair, I took my stand,
A pawn in the hands of the law,
Electric currents, like a brand,
A heart-wrenching fate that none foresaw.

In that dark room, my life did end,
Innocence lost, a soul set free,
With one last plea, I did ascend,
“My friends, I tried, you see”

To those who hear my mournful tale,
Be cautious with the judgments made,
For innocence can oft assail,
And hearts, once pure, by lies degrade.

Let my story be a stark call,
To seek the truth, no matter the cost,
For in the end, it is not the fall,
But how we stood, no matter the loss.

WORDS OF DOUBLE TROUBLE

I sought your help, my troubles were real,
Facing a mountain that seemed surreal.
I thought you’d bring comfort, make me stable,
But your words came crashing, like double trouble.

Responsibility, you said I must bear,
Accountability for savings to declare.
Unfashionable, you claimed with disdain,
But my character, unshakable, will always remain.
I listened in silence, defenseless and meek,
Your hurtful words, unforgettable and bleak.

Unreasonable, you were, without a doubt,
If only I knew, I would have sought a way out.
Retaining nothing, your advice gone astray,
Leaving me vulnerable, with nothing to say.
You shattered my spirit, poured on the pain,
Double trouble, like an unyielding chain.

Disreputable, you urged me to be,
But that path felt wrong, unattainable for me.
Unstoppable, you said, through actions obscene,
But I could not comply, it just was not my scene.
Your words were jumbled, nonsensical and unclear,
All because I needed help, something you didn’t adhere.

Disrespectable, you proved to be,
The only option available, you see.
Indelible marks, your words left behind,
Making my situation seem laughably unkind.
You went too far, with your double trouble,
A harsh reminder, my struggles made double.

Impossible, you claimed my request to be,
No intention to help, leaving me feeling so empty.
Terrible, I feel, thanks to your tongue-lashing spree,
Uncomfortable moments, inflicted by thee.
I faced financial trouble, unstable and dire,
And you added insult, fueling the fire.

Commendable, you thought your character alone,
But humility and resilience, I have shown.
This far and single, yet I won’t grumble,
Believing in God’s timing, remaining humble.
Do not judge me by reproach, it is not commendable,
Mr. Double Trouble, your words are dispensable.

LOVE? A RESOUNDING NO

The love
I once believed was true,
Merely infatuation it turned out to be,
A shadow, dark and consuming,
Unbeknownst, it swallowed me whole,
Leaving me breathless, shedding tears,
Each drop, a testament to my weariness.

Seeking help, I cried out,
My voice echoing until my throat revolted,
Silence enveloped the air,
While voices echoed within my mind.

Is this love, I questioned,
One that traps you, shackling your feet,
And binds your hands with handcuffs?

Is this what you call love,
A heart left bleeding, emotions deeply scarred?

I made a choice to break free,
To escape the clutches of love’s confinement,
Years it took, but I emerged alive.

And now you expect me to return,
To that abyss of darkness once more?
Absolutely not!

For your information, I abandoned love,
Many years ago,
No matter how beautifully packaged,
It remains love,
And for me, it is a resounding no.
